One preschooler, one toddler, and one 7 week old
I just love the picture below. Baby T had just woken up and wasn't thrilled about it, so big brother P tried to help calm her. I love to capture sweet moments like this.

Mellow
I had an early bird session this morning with a senior. When I asked him to describe himself, he said he was "mellow" and I have to agree. Hopefully I captured that in his photos.

I got her to smile!
According to her mom, this little girl has given every previous photographer before me a hard time. She has never smiled for any of them. Well, I love a challenge. G was definitely not into the idea of getting her picture taken. She asked me about 90 times "Am I done?" and I have some of the funniest faces in my files from her. But I had a secret weapon, a tickle stick that brought out this sweet smile.

I got to photograph the sweetest newborn, woohoo!
Meet J, a sweet little baby boy that I had the chance to take pictures of today. I absolutely adore shooting newborns, but of course, it is not without risk. Shortly after this shot he peed on me for the second time. And you know what, it was worth it. Hopefully mom and dad think so too.
J is blessed to have a big sister, M, who adores him. I just love this photo.

Celebrating Adoption Photography in Nashville
Today, I had the wonderful opportunity to photograph this darling little girl, Sabrina, who was adopted from Guatemala. She was such a sweetheart and she had me wrapped around her pinkie by the end of the shoot. Don't get me wrong though, she sure made me work hard for these photos.
By the way, I did this shoot for free to help support the wonderful nonprofit group, CelebratingAdoption.org. If you have a chance, visit the website to learn more. You can learn more about the story of Sabrina on her mom's blog, www.michellesmiles.com.

We have a winner!
I used random.org to help me choose and the winner is post 7, which is Dave.
Thank you all for commenting. I decided to work with the logo the majority of you chose, which was 'c'. I will continue working with the designer and get it tweaked to perfection. So look for the final logo to be unveiled soon.
Also be on the lookout for another comment contest in the near future when I launch my new website and blog. There is lots of very exciting stuff going on around here.

Logo Round 1... Vote and you might win a prize!
Hello! I have found a great place to design my logo but it is so hard to choose. So I am asking for your help. Please leave a comment and choose logo a, b, or c. You can click on the photo to enlarge the photo and see the detail better.
This logo will be used on lot of things including my website, blog, as a watermark, on marketing materials and so forth. I can still tweak the colors, fonts and little details.
I really want the logo to fit with my style. Thank you so much for your help!
In 7 days, I will randomly pick a comment and send that person a $5 gift card to Target. Good luck!
P.S. This is round 1 and I should have round 2 up next week.

A bit too chilly for my tastes
I had a wonderful opportunity to meet up with a talented local photographer in Nashville. We decided to shoot and chat in Nashville, so I brought Brianna along as our model. It was very windy and quite chilly, but Brianna was all smiles even when I complained. The session was a success and I found some awesome locations for future shoots.

Oh my
Today, I have been going through my portfolio and came across this photo. I don't know how I missed this one. Oh my goodness, to have skin that smooth. It is the same little girl in the 'kissy lips' post below. She is such a sweetie.

My senior session today
I had a ton of fun doing my first senior session today. It was fun to have a client who isn't trying to run away from the camera. As a bonus, I found lots of great places to take photos in Nashville.

A Valentine's Day card sneak peak
My son helped me make a Valentine's Day card for tomorrow and I just couldn't wait to share a sneak peak. We got the idea from Becky's blog.

Kissy Lips
I had a friend spend the day with me yesterday and we had a great time. Her daughter is adorable and I couldn't resist sneaking in a mini session. I just love her kissy lips!

One of my favorite sessions in 2007
This is one of my favorite sessions from this past year. It was such a joy to do this shoot, I actually felt like I was intruding on their special relationship. It was very clear how much this mom loved her little boy and how much he adored her. So precious.

The look
Oh my goodness, I love this photo of my oldest, Brianna. That is her stare, the one she gets when the world around her disappears, which often happens while reading a book. Andrew says that I get the same look when I read too. I guess the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

Baby Margo
Baby Margo was a delight to photograph. She was so tiny and pink with all that dark hair, and for a moment I missed having a new baby in the house. Then I remembered that I was finally getting to sleep a full 8 hours at night again. I will just have to adore newborns through my lens from now on.

Four fingers old
Ty is happy to announce that he is four fingers old and that means he can do tricks now. Seriously, how can you stand all of this cuteness?

I can't believe she's 10
The ability this girl has to melt my heart is unreal, I love her so much. I can't believe that I have been blessed to be her mother for 10 years.

Snow
I was going through my photos and found this one that I took while we lived in Connecticut. It was taken after an early snow storm that left the world pristine white and sparkling. That is one thing I will miss now that we live in Tennessee.

A relaxed sunset session with four
This family was so easy going and fun to hang out with.
The family photo above fits their personalities so well and I was happy to discover that I caught this fleeting moment.
